Are Hair Extensions Damaging?

Aug 17, 2021
Here she is! A new client for us here at Studio She. BUT not a newbie to hair extensions.

As painful as it was visually, it also was painful to her hair. The tape extensions she used to have were placed too close to her scalp and caused extreme breakage. So you see, tape extensions can be damaging. As a matter of fact, all hair extensions "can be" damaging! This is why it's vital to seek our proper education!

The art of hair extensions can't be taught online! This is a tangible service and needs to be treated as such. More often than not, when I see damage created it's because the Stylist didn't take the time to properly learn. AS someone who loves to learn, this leaves me frustrated!

So why would extensions damage the natural hair?! Application too close to root, not enough or too much hair attached to the hair extension, tension/traction, wrong method selected etc. etc.
