de·bunk/dēˈbəNGk/verb expose the falseness or hollowness of (a myth, idea, or belief).
A quick blog to shed a little light on the "situation." Simply said, don't believe the hype.
I have stories for DAYS...maybe even months. Ten's of thousands of dollars wasted on false promises.
As you may or may not know, I'm continually sourcing and testing product to verify its quality and IF that company will make it to the selected Vendor's list. 99% of the time, what I'm promised isn't what arrives. It's such a bummer!
Let me explain. With the power of social media and the internet, ANYONE can start a company and make false promises. The vendor I trusted has been working with NBR certificate holders for the past year. I know this because the factory copied and pasted conversations on WhatsApp.
The packaging promises the same as the website.
100% Russian Human Hair Extensions
Highese (missing a T and has an e) Quality
Ethically Source (spelling error)
Now I will debunk the BS!
100% Russian Hair
The website says "Russian hair" and the package arrived from China. I reached out to the seller, and she agreed it's Russian and Malaysian hair. And what percent is Russian?! Good question. What I can tell you is that there is ZERO natural wave and air dries straight. For some of you, you may think that this is a positive factor, but all good hair, in my opinion, air dries with some natural wave. I LIVE for that wave LOL.
The only time it's ok to be straight is lighter levels, such as your double platinum blondes. Russian hair air dries with a slight wave and virgin Russian hair is beautiful, shiny, and arrives in colors I dream about.
The seller is claiming that this is 100% double drawn. I agree the mix of lengths is actually more than most...but if it was double drawn the hair would be 100% the same length, in every strand of hair. This is not the case.
I mean the English isn't spelled right so maybe? I feel like saying the answer is in the question.
I've been wearing it for a month and for me, it's a NO. I am a working professional who doesn't have time for hair that doesn't blend with my own. The texture is off, the color is hollow, it's dry and lacks shine. Don't get me wrong, I think it's good quality for what's out there on the market. The average turn around time for hand-tied wefts is about 3-6 months. Which this hair could and would do, without knotting or tangling. BUT, for me, I wouldn't sell this to my clients. My goal is to source hair that is re-usable for up to one year. I know that there is better out there and I treat my clients the way I want to be treated.
The other side of the coin is that, while I am testing these brands I feel like it's a little stressful not having amazing hair extensions in! When you have an eye for detail you see everything ...so I can't wait for Jose to switch me over next Tuesday.
So, it all came from one person?! If it's genuinely double drawn, there is no way this is even an honest guess. Hair doesn't grow at the same rate. It takes six ponytails to create one wig. Think about it. Complete BS.
I sure hope SO!
The jury is still out on that one. I will say, it barely knots or tangles.
It would be considered luxury if it was 100% Russian hair of the highest quality which it isn't.
That said, if you hear of a vendor/factory/company and they have all the bells and whistles online, THIS doesn't mean that you can trust them.
If you hear of a great company, please email me. I'll gladly spend the money so you can save yours. WHY?! It's my promise to everyone that spends two days with me. I like to be up on my game and knowing who to trust is vital. Plus I love to pass on all my learnings to those that attend the two-day Mastery Class. The vendor's list is something I am proud of and helps you succeed!
All my commitment,
