The Difference Between Hand- Tied Wefts and Machine Wefts

Updated: Aug 5

Let's talk about what makes Hand- Tied and Machine Tied Wefts different.

There are a few major differences between hand-tied and machine wefts. They are often confused because they look similar.

Hand- tied Wefts

  • Tied by hand

  • Virtually invisible

  • More flexible

  • Offered in multiple densities

Machine Wefts

  • Collection of hair sewn together by a machine

  • Thicker and weigh more

  • More durable and sturdy

  • Normally offered in one density Pricing and Affordable When researching Weft types keep in mind the price point of your client. What is your client willing to spend?

Machine-tied hair is often more cuticle processed. The hair in machine-tied wefts has been acid washed to remove the cuticles so no assurance of the cuticles being aligned is needed, nor is it required to trim the folded over roots.
